On the evening of June 18th, 2025, Hamilton first responders were dispatched to Old Indian Mound Road after reports that a person had fallen into the Buttahatchee River.
Emergency crews arrived on scene around 9:00 p.m. and quickly deployed an aerial drone to aid in the search. Within an hour, the individual was safely located and brought to shore.
They were transported to Northwest Mississippi Medical Center with minor injuries.
We commend the Hamilton Police Department and Hamilton Fire Department for their swift, coordinated response and dedication to bringing this situation to a safe resolution.
